The Governor of Yazd at the joint meeting of the ambassadors of the member countries of the Asia Dialogue Cooperation Forum:

The approach of the fourteenth government in foreign policy is the best opportunity for the development of tourism

Mehran Fatemi, the Governor of Yazd, said at the joint meeting of the ambassadors of the member countries of the Asia Dialogue Cooperation Forum (ACD): “I am very pleased that in 45 days, we will have the honor of hosting the tourism ministers of ACD member countries in the historical city of Yazd.”

He added: “The UNESCO World Heritage city of Yazd, as the capital of tourism for the ACD member countries in 2024, has planned and executed multiple programs and events to deepen cooperation among member countries in the field of tourism. However, some of these were not realized due to the tragic plane crash and the martyrdom of President Ayatollah Raisi, as well as factors such as the holding of early elections.”

The Governor of Yazd further stated: “To make the most of the opportunity presented by this event, we have arranged side programs including a brainstorming session for tour operators and tourism guides from the member countries to facilitate coordination and deeper cooperation between these organizations as executive arms.”

Fatemi expressed hope that holding this important event will play a significant role in fostering a more dynamic and sustainable connection between the nations of this ancient continent and that on October 30 and 31, we will witness the maximum presence of tourism ministers from member countries and private sector actors in the city of Yazd.

He referred to the policies of the fourteenth government aimed at promoting a spirit of unity and solidarity in both domestic and foreign arenas and added: “I hope we will take proper advantage of this valuable opportunity for the development of tourism among neighboring and Asian countries.”
